Dr Patrick Girouard : Comment T-Scan permet aux cliniciens d'analyser les contraintes occlusales

Digital technologies, like T-Scan™, have become vital tools that enhance the entire patient diagnosis and examination process. More dentists are coming to realize that analog methods to examine or treat patients are not providing the complete measurement story. This is especially the case when evaluating patients with signs and symptoms of occlusal stress.

A recent General Dentistry case report (beginning on Page 32) authored by Dr. Patrick Girouard (BSc, DMD, MS) titled “Biometrics: Digital technology as a clinical aid to dental examination and diagnosis,”(1)  explains how digital diagnostic assessment tools are helping dentists uncover critical information during new-patient examination that may be going unnoticed by other methods.

In Dr. Girouard’s report, T-Scan was used to capture relative forces, bite sequence, timing, and repetitive force patterns – most of which cannot be obtained by analog measurement methods, like occlusal paper. As the article explains, T-Scan helps to reveal new parameters that have been inaccessible in the examination, evaluation, and diagnostic processes.
